Who am I?
Human, Leader, Author, Entrepreneur
My expertise and experience as a leader with official "stamp" and formal structure goes back to 2006. While being an informal leader even goes back to 1995.
In 1995 I started as a team leader. Later in 2006 I got the opportunity to take over a formal leader role within a global operating IT company. At that moment my dream of leading people became reality.
Since then I had the privilege to lead people in teams of various cultures, nationalities and sizes in many different roles.
While my first team consisted of three people, over time responsibility grew and with this the size of teams and departments I lead. Up to being a leader for a unit with more than 200 people in several countries.
Additionally to this I offer coaching and mentoring for people cross departments and boarders. In this role I support them to identify and realise their personal career development goal.

Why does this topic matter to me?
In times of ever-increasing pressure to perform and succeed, the pursuit of even greater profit, and continuously growing efficiency, I observe that people and employees are increasingly being left behind. Emotional intelligence, empathy and respect are degraded and treated as luxury, since companies either underestimate or undervalue it.
The role of leadership is deteriorating into that of a manager who gets lost in micromanagement and takes the availability and performance of their team for granted. The result is burned-out, frustrated, and demotivated employees who eventually vote with their feet and leave the company.
The question that usually follows is: “What is wrong with the employee?”
But instead of looking for the “fault” in employees, I believe it makes more sense to first reflect on one’s own actions and to ask openly and honestly: “Was it me as a leader?”
This is exactly where my approach begins, because I am convinced that leadership starts with oneself, not with the environment. I control my own behaviour, my thinking, and my emotions—and I am responsible for them, bearing the consequences of my own actions and decisions.
Why Mindful Leadership?
Over the past more than 12 months, I have gone through a very intense process of change myself—and I am still on this journey.
The combination of my own transformation experiences and my expertise as a leader has given me a new perspective on modern leadership. These experiences form the foundation of my coaching and mentoring offering for you. It will help you to learn what mindful leadership is about and why it's worth thinking about and applying it.
In the future, you won’t do everything right—just perhaps a few things a little less wrong.
